The Lonely Road

The lonely road lay untraveled but the splashes of brown amidst the green grassyness hinted of former use. The ancient pass was sprinkled with leaves still red and yellow and unblemished the step of any kind of life and only the sound of the lone sentry singing in the trees broke the mood of silence and solitude. The deep shadows of overhanging trees left me feeling melancholy and sad with thoughts of modem times where new things are invented and old things become obsolete and forgotten. And only the remnants of an untrodden road serve as a testimonial.
